Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize and coordinate programs to implement LAUSD instructional initiatives
  • Plan and conduct professional development for teachers, administrators, paraprofessionals, parents and community members
  • Serves as a resource for classroom teachers in the use of the computer as an educational tool and in the use of a variety of instructional technologies in the classroom
  • Serves as a consultant, to and provides ongoing curricular and technical support for local district schools and office
  • Plans and implements opportunities/activities for parents to increase their participation in programs and their support of student use of instructional technology
  • Minimum Requirements:
  • At least five years of successful full-time teaching experience
  • Permanent LAUSD status
  • A valid California Teaching Credential
  • Experience using and supporting instructional computer applications in a Pre K-12 school
  • Desirable Skills:
  • Supports and organizes Local District Website as a resource for Stakeholders
  • Serve as a resource to identify instructional strategies and maximize resources based on data
  • Experience in collaborative planning and delivery of differentiated staff development to classroom practitioners
  • Understanding of District curricular standards and state frameworks
  • Leadership skill in facilitating group processes, including consensus building and resolution of conflict
  • Knowledge of staff development resources relating to instruction
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, peers, other District personnel and community representatives, both individually or in groups
  • Mobility to travel to other sites/locations
  • Assignment Limitations:
  • The Teacher Adviser position and the individual serving in the position are subject to an annual review by the immediate supervisor; employees may serve in the position for a maximum of five consecutive school years
