| Duties and Responsibilities: | Provide training to Local District, Support Unit and school site staff regarding school-wide positive behavior support, classroom management, Functional Behavior Assessment, Behavior Support Plans, Functional Analysis Assessment, Behavior Intervention, Plans, alternatives to suspension, and cultural and linguistic considerations in behavior and disciplineCollaborate with LRE Specialists, Behavior Specialists, Support Unit, Local District RtI2 teams and school site staff in problem solving individual, classroom and school wide behavioral issuesProvide professional development on Functional Behavioral Assessment and how to use this as a tool to determine supports for studentsProvide coaching to build capacity for behavior support throughout the school systemSupport a team approach in behavior support planning and implementation among the school community, teacher, paraprofessional, student and parentsSupport the identification, development and provisions of systemic and systematic intervention to address behaviors of students with disabilities that impede learning and support transitions into least restrictive environmentsDevelop and support differentiated training and coaching opportunities for Support Unit, Local District and school staff to provide school-based analysis of behavior and development and monitoring of behavior intervention plans compliant with legal requirementsCollaborate with Central Office, Support Unit, Local District, and school staff to ensure the integration of positive behavior supports in all District instructional initiativesProvide training on procedures for applying behavioral intervention strategies to support students with disabilities in the least restrictive environmentCollaborate with Non-Public School Specialists and representatives from community-based agencies in the effective provision of behavioral support services and to maximize the use of existing District resources. Consult with Behavior Specialists and other school support staff in monitoring and implementing Functional Behavior Assessments, Functional Analysis Assessments, Behavior Support Plans and Behavior Intervention Plans. |
| Minimum Requirements: | Five years of full time certificated service in a public school, three of which must have been working with students with disabilitiesA valid California Pupil Personnel Services Credential or a valid California Teaching CredentialAbility to travel to sites throughout the DistrictPermanent District status |
| Desirable Skills: | Knowledge and experience in functional analysis, positive behavior support planning, behavior intervention planningExperience in both general and special education settingsDemonstrated leadership ability in collaboration, conflict resolution and professional developmentDemonstrated ability in implementing behavior plans successfullyStrong organizational, written and oral communication skills |
