Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assists in the planning and implementation for the transition of students with disabiltiies into school settings.
  • Provides training and coaching to classroom paraeducators, teachers and parents on issues related to behavior support.
  • Supports the school site staff and classroom team in meeting the behavioral needs of students.
  • Develops strategies for generalizing learned behavior.
  • Assists with building the capacity of school teams in supporting the behavioral needs of young students.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Requirements:
  • A valid Special Education Credential.
  • Five years of classroom experience.
  • Knowledge and expertise in the areas of behavior and autism.
  • Knowledge of the California Desired Results System.
  • Knowledge of Pre-School instructional strategies and curriculum.
  • Valid California Driver's License and the ability to travel throughout the district.
  • Desirable Skills:
  • Ability to work with diverse racial, ethnic and social groups.
  • Knowledge and experience in developing and implementing behavior support plans.
  • Knowledge and experience in implementing a team approach to effective, consistent behavior support.
  • Proficient in the use of Welligent and other computer applications.
  • Ability to make group presentations.
