The District is currently accepting applications from candidates who meet the qualifications and requirements for the District Intern or University Intern programs. District Intern subject areas include Elementary Education, Mathematics, Science, English, and Special Education - Mild / Moderate. University Intern applications are accepted in all subject areas. Interviews will be scheduled based on the District's current needs.

District Intern
The District Intern Program and the Education Specialist Intern Program offer the opportunity to earn a Professional Clear California credential in a tuition-free, supportive program. District Interns teach full-time and receive salary and District-paid benefits while completing their credential coursework.

University Intern
The University Intern programs provide the opportunity to teach full-time and receive salary and District-paid benefits while meeting credential requirements through a teacher-training program at a college or university.


The Application Process

Step 1 header


Complete the Online Application.

Step 2 header

Applications will be reviewed based on the needs of the District and current selection criteria. Candidates may receive an e-mail requesting additional documents, as needed. After application review, selected candidates may be scheduled for an interview with Human Resources.

Step 3 header

After the Human Resources interview, candidates who meet District standards may be referred to schools where positions are available.

Step 4 header

School site interview comittees will invite selected candidates for interview and make their final selection.

Step 5 header

Selected candidates will visit LAUSD Central Offices to finalize:

Credential Verification
Health clearance, including tuberculosis testing
Fingerprinting
Contracting
Salary Placement
