Special Education Certificated Employment Operations - SECEO's mandate is to locate, attract, select and support new special education teachers/support service providers throughout the pre-employment process. The action steps prescribed in Plan 16 of the "Modified Consent Decree" drive the unit. The primary goal for the SECEO staff is to reduce the disparity between the number of qualified general education teachers and the number of qualified special education teachers in the District.

Special Education Initiative - An informational meeting will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, January 12th for those considering a career in the field of Special Education. Individuals with related experiences and a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of special education students are invited to register for the meeting and obtain meeting location by contacting Doreen Mendoza at careersinsped@lausd.net.
