Home Purchase Information/Programs

Los Angeles Teachers Mortgage Assistance Program: The Los Angeles Teachers Mortgage Assistance Program (LATMAP) provides current and new teachers, along with other qualified District personnel, a one-stop site encompassing various special home purchase assistance programs available.

Extra Credit Program: Teachers and principals who commit to serve in designated low performing schools for five years will qualify for tax credits or reduced interest rate loans to purchase a home.

Cal STRS Home Loan: California State Teachers' Retirement System (CalSTRS) participants can use the CalSTRS Home Loan Program to refinance their existing home loan or to buy a new home.

Teacher Next Door Program: The Teacher Next Door program offers HUD-owned, single family homes located in designated revitalization areas, to teachers at a 50 percent discount. This program will benefit teachers, the children they educate and the communities they serve.

Information and Services

Employment/Salary Verification: "The Work Number for Everyone" will speed up the employment verification process by giving you and your verifier access to employment information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Work Number is a cost effective and environmentally smart way for Los Angeles Unified School District employees to have their employment verified confidentially. This service may be used for loan applications, apartment leases, credit card applications, etc.
