Dear
Applicant,
Thank you for your interest in
employment with the Los Angeles Unified School District. We value
all of our interested applicants and hope to provide you with the
best customer service possible.
The Federal legislation, "HR1
No Child Left Behind Act of 2001", requires that all public
school districts hire "Highly Qualified" teachers for
their schools. Therefore, the employment process for teachers
has
become extremely selective and competitive. The LAUSD is committed
to hiring teachers who meet the NCLB definition of a highly qualified
teacher.
Teacher candidates who do not hold
a teaching credential / certificate must meet the following minimum
LAUSD employment standards:
- Successful completion of the California Basic
Educational Skills Test (CBEST).
- Completion of a Baccalaureate degree from
an accredited college or university.
- Attainment of a grade point average of at
least 2.7 overall.
IMPORTANT:
As part of the application process, you will be receiving e-mail
messages from recruit@lausd.net.
Please make sure
your e-mail system will not block messages from this address
as junk
e-mail or "spam." For more information
about changing your e-mail settings, please contact your Internet
or e-mail service provider. (Regrettably, LAUSD is not able to
offer technical support in this matter).
On behalf of the Los Angeles Unified
School District, we would like to wish all of our teacher candidates
the best of luck with the application process.
