California “HOUSSE” for “Not New” teachers

The U.S Department of Education and The California Department of Education (CDE) approved the California “High Objective Uniform State Standard of Evaluation” (HOUSSE) for “Not New” teachers to demonstrate subject matter competence in core academic subject area(s). “Not New” teachers must accumulate 100 points in each core academic subject area(s) taught.

The District has utilized current data (i.e. years of experience, Stull observations, advanced degrees, etc.) from various Human Resources databases to allocate HOUSSE points to current “Not New” teachers.
