Scholarships are granted on a competitive basis to high school students who demonstrate a strong commitment to becoming teachers. The goals of the scholarship program are to support students in completing a bachelor’s degree and credential program, to reimburse educational expenses, and to guide students in the development of skills and competencies necessary to serve as a credential LAUSD teacher.
ITRP Scholarship Offers:
• Monetary award
• Assistance with placement as a teacher assistant
• Additional college advisement
• Preparation for State-mandated exams
• Early Teacher Contract with LAUSD
ITRP Scholarship Requirements:
• Applicants must be high school juniors
• A minimum 2.75 grade point average
• Begin college matriculation at least by the Fall Semester after High school graduation
• Work part-time for LAUSD as a Teacher Assistant, AVID Tutor, Play Ground Assistant or Early Childhood Education Center Aide
• Join the Career Ladder Office
• Join the Career Ladder Scholarship
• Work as a credentialed teacher for LAUSD for each year of support received

• Pass Phase 1-Screening by the Selection Committee
