Eligibility
In order to join the LAUSD Paraeducator Career Ladder, you must be an LAUSD Employee in Bargaining Unit B or F. Unit B includes numerous job classifications. If you are an employee, but not sure if you are in Bargaining Unit B, click here. Unit F includes Teacher Assistants.
Employees represented by Bargaining Units A, C, E, D, H, S, or Z should visit Organizational Excellence for reimbursement options.
Single Sign On and LAUSDNet Email Account To join online, you must use your LAUSDNet email account (known as your Single Sign On or SSO). All LAUSD employees are eligible for a free LAUSD Net email account. If you do not have an LAUSD email account, click here to obtain one.
*Note: All email communication will only be through your LAUSD email account.
Career Ladder Application Process:
1. Setup Single Sign On and LAUSDNet Email Account; Proceed to step 2 if you have an established LAUSD email account.
2. Read the Career Ladder Services and Policies OVERVIEW.
3. Take and submit the Career Ladder Services and Policies QUIZ.
You may take the quiz as many times as necessary.
4. The Career Ladder Office will automatically be notified when you pass the quiz.
Career Ladder staff will verify your eligibility and send notification through your LAUSDNet email account.
5. Please be sure to check your LAUSD email account and complete the Membership Application you received after passing the Career Ladder quiz and submit it to us via fax 213-241-8465, school mail or email ladder@lausd.net.
6. Once you have submitted your Career Ladder Membership Application, visit What's next? on how to begin.
You must apply for either the scholarship or reimbursement. Please visit the Financial Aid page within this site for instructions.
Please phone the office if you do not receive an email notification of passing the quiz to your LAUSD email account.
