 Career Ladder Scholarship
The Career Ladder Scholarship Program is a state-funded scholarship program that supports future K-12 teachers studying at local community colleges, California state universities, and private institutions of higher learning.

Scholarship recipients receive up to $3,000 per year reimbursement for educational expenses. Community college participants receive up to $1250 annually; university participants receive up to $3,000 annually.

Scholarship recipients pursue a career in elementary education, special education, and high need areas such as mathematics, science, English, or a foreign language. They must maintain a 2.75 grade point average or higher, complete 18 semester or 24 quarter units per academic year (12 months), and agree to work as a LAUSD teacher one year for each year of monetary support received. Participants who fail to complete their credential will reimburse the scholarship fund any monies received.

The scholarship is available only to employees who are paraeducators currently enrolled in a college or university. Individuals will need to have passed the CBEST test prior to being accepted as a scholarship recipient.
