Employee Assistance Center
The Los Angeles Unified School District has partnered with the City of Los Angeles Workforce Investment Board, the Los Angeles Community Development Department, and the California Employee Development Department (EDD) to bring an on-site career center to provide current and displaced employees with career assistance free of charge.
The Employee Assistance Center is located at the LAUSD headquarters at 333 S. Beaudry Ave., 2nd fl., Suite 02-110, Los Angeles, CA 90017 in the Old General Store location. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The Employee Assistance Center is holding the following workshops every Tuesday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.:
- Keys to Getting Your Resume Noticed
- Understanding what employers are looking for
- Learning how to communicate (on paper) that you are indeed what they are looking for
- How to structure a great resume for high visibility in the current job market
- Interviewing With Confidence
- Understanding your value
- How to communicate your value
- How to answer the four questions all hiring managers need answered (even if they don’t know it)
- The Do's and Don'ts of the Job Search Process
- What “being prepared” means in today’s job market
- How to target your search for higher visibility in this market
- How to make networking work for you
