  • Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools - (Chapel Hill, NC) - Seeking bilingual teachers for the Dual Language Spanish Program for the 2009-10 school year. Teachers for this program teach the full elementary curriculum in Spanish and must be fully licensed and highly qualified in elementary education. The bilingual teacher has an English-speaking partner so that the children in this program have one half day instruction in English and one half day instruction in Spanish. Each dual language class has 22 children, with half speaking English as a first language and half speaking Spanish as a first language. The Dual Language program begins in kindergarten and continues through 5th grade at the elementary level. We also have a middle school dual language program, currently through 7th grade, with plans to expand through grade 12. Four elementary schools and one middle school will have Dual Language Spanish Programs for the 2009-10 school year. Bilingual candidates holding an elementary education teaching license are encouraged to apply and to visit the district.
