Target Student Population (TSP) Staffing


The Human Resources Division is committed to support Principals in staffing their school to ensure an instructionally effective and compliant program that accelerates the academic achievement for English learners, low income and foster youth.


Principals are asked to utilize the following sample flyer templates and information to experience a successful selection process:


For the Targeted Student Population Program Adviser position

    • Duties are listed on the Template Flyer
    • Schools may post the position opening on TeacherPlus at http://www.teachinla.com/vacancies/index.html (if needed)
    • Position is paid on the Teacher Preparation Table C Basis
    • Adhere to the same selection guidelines utilized for School-Site Election of Coordinators and Deans as set forth in the UTLA bargaining agreement
    • For assistance with selection and assignment for the Program Adviser position, contact Vanessa Franklin, Certificated Support Services at (213) 241-6923
  • For the Targeted Student Population Instructional Specialist position
    • Duties are listed on the Template Flyer
    • Once the position is budgeted, contact your Instructional Director who will submit the necessary forms to advertise the position on the District Administrative Services website

    • Assignment is B Basis and the salary is commensurate with the Assistant Principal level determined for the assigned school (refer to the SBACP)

California State University, Los Angeles: Charter College of Education: Now accepting applications for the Ed.D in Educational Leadership Fall 2013, Cohort 4. Click here for details.

UCLA: Principal Leadership Institute Now accepting applications for the 2013-2014 program to obtain a tier-one administrative credential and a master's degree in education. For information Click here or for details click here for informational meeting dates.

USC Rossier School of Education: Master of Education in School Leadership:

USC Now offers a 15-month, online Master of Education in School Leadership degree.  Designed to prepare current teachers for future leadership positions as principals and assistant principals, the first cohort begins in January 2013. Fielding Graduate University: Preliminary Administrative Services Credential/Masters of Arts in Collaborative Educational Leadership programs: Now accepting applications. Administrative Selection & Assignments is responsible for all personnel assignment / audit transactions for 2,200 certificated management and contract level employees. The Unit provides administrative direction, coordination, and technical expertise to administrators regarding certificated selection and assignment policies, Board Rules, Administrative Regulations, AALA bargaining unit agreement, and the resolution of problems referred to the Chief Human Resources Officer.

In addition, the Administrative Selection & Assignments posts all certificated administrator vacancies, coordinates the implementation of administrative selection procedures, including formal exams for school-based administrative positions, and processes retired administrators as interim substitutes, as well as out of District new hires for administrative positions.

The Human Resources Division will staff all schools and offices with qualified certificated employees who will educate and support our diverse student population.
