Now Recruiting Visionary Leaders for the LAUSD

LAUSD’s reorganization plan is centered on the District’s goals – Proficiency for All, 100% Graduation and Attendance, School Safety, and Parent and Community Engagement.  The reorganization plan will include four geographic Local Educational Service Centers, plus a Superintendent’s Innovation and Intensive Support Center which will serve schools from across the city, beginning in the 2012-13 school year. Each geographic area will also be covered by a Regionall Operations Center and a Regional Parent Center.

LOCAL EDUCATIONAL SERVICE CENTERS

Each Local Educational Service Center will provide concentrated efforts on instruction and supporting the academic needs of all students.  The plan will allow the District to focus our service to the core of our work—improving instruction.

Local Instructional Area Superintendent

Builds a shared vision for the Local Educational Service Center that drives all instructional activities and resources; leads the development of strategic instructional plans ensuring that students achieve high academic standards in all their K-12 schools in accordance with District goals and initiatives.

Instructional Directors – Elementary / Middle / Senior High Schools

Serves as a key leader on the Local Educational Service Team to align student needs with the resources to ensure academic success. Assists in the development and implementation of the instructional program; plans strategically; mentors and evaluates principals; leads professional development; and utilizes accountability measures to ensure that all schools excel in meeting their goals.

REGIONAL OPERATIONS CENTERS

Each Regional Operations Center will ensure the best service to schools in support of the operational and safety needs.

Local Area Administrator of Operations
Serves as the key leader for one of five Regional Operations Service Centers and is accountable to ensure that schools receive exemplary support and resources in the area of school operations. This leader will work collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure a safe and effective school campus environment that facilitates the teaching and learning process.

REGIONAL PARENT CENTER

Each Regional Parent Center will promote the partnership between parents and community members to advance the success of all students and schools.

Local Administrator of Parent and Community Engagement

Serves as the key leader to ensure that parents and community members are engaged as partners to promote the success of all students and schools.

*It is important to keep in mind that as program reductions occur and employees are reassigned to classifications in which they have return rights, rank numbers will change as employees are placed on the list by seniority.


Administrative Selection & Assignments is responsible for all personnel assignment / audit transactions for 2,200 certificated management and contract level employees. The Unit provides administrative direction, coordination, and technical expertise to administrators regarding certificated selection and assignment policies, Board Rules, Administrative Regulations, AALA bargaining unit agreement, and the resolution of problems referred to the Chief Human Resources Officer.

In addition, the Administrative Selection & Assignments posts all certificated administrator vacancies, coordinates the implementation of administrative selection procedures, including formal exams for school-based administrative positions, and processes retired administrators as interim substitutes, as well as out of District new hires for administrative positions.

The Human Resources Division will staff all schools and offices with qualified certificated employees who will educate and support our diverse student population.
