The California Commission on Teacher Credentialing is requiring that all clear, professional and/or professional clear credential renewals be completed via the Internet, as of January 1, 2007. In
order to renew through the ease of the online process, District certificated employees will want to follow the directions that have been provided.
To access the renewal web page:
- Log on to www.ctc.ca.gov
- Click on "Renew Your Credential"
- Click on "Renew Your Credential Online."
- Follow directions for the "Renewal Steps."
Additionally, District certificated employees will need to:
- Complete Form # 1220 "Clear and Professional Credential Renewal Affidavit" to Certificated Credentials and Contract Services.
- Once the information has been entered, the file needs to be saved to your computer. Open up your e-mail program and attach the saved file. Please email the file to credentialservices@lausd.net . This will enable that the renewed credential be registered with the Los Angeles County Office of Education:
Certificated employees are advised to renew their Clear, Professional and/or Professional Clear credentials at least two weeks prior to the expiration date. Failure to do so will have an adverse effect on the individual’s retirement benefits and payroll.
In addition to the online renewal requirement, recent notification from the CCTC indicates that the verification of the professional growth requirement, will no longer be a component of the professional clear credential renewals, as of January 1, 2007. The exception to this is for the renewal of the Child Development Permits, which will continue to require the verification of 105 hours of professional growth activities. Due to the professional growth requirement being eliminated, renewed professional clear credentials will be referred to as clear credentials, effective January 1, 2007.
If certificated employees have questions or seek assistance renewing their clear, professional and/or professional clear credentials via the Internet, please email credentialservices@lausd.net , or call (213) 241-6520 and ask to speak to your Credentials and Contract Assistant. If Internet access is not available, certificated employees are welcome to use the District computers in Certificated Credentials and Contract Services, located on the 15th Floor of the Beaudry Building.
